The top ranked women’s hockey teams in the IIHF will go head-to-head in an exhibition series in advance of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
The U.S. and Canada senior women’s national teams will play in a cross-border series starting on Oct. 22 in Quebec City.
“This series is an incredible opportunity to showcase women’s hockey in a best-on-best atmosphere and we’re looking forward to bringing that to Quebec City,” said Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada’s general manager of national women’s team programs. “As we continue to look ahead to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, this series marks another critical step in our preparation and will certainly be a fantastic opportunity for fans to watch the top players in North America battle in advance of puck-drop in Pyeongchang.”

The Oct. 22 game at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City is part of a larger exhibition series that will see games hosted across the United States and in at least two other Canadian locations. Hockey Canada announced that more details about those games will be released later this summer. The series will serve as an important evaluation tool in selecting Canada’s final roster for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Camille Bernier, chair of the game’s host organizing committee said it is a great precursor for the city that is also hosting the 2017 National Women’s Under-18 Championship from Nov. 1 to 5.
Tickets are available for purchase at HockeyCanada.ca and at the box office for $25 for adults, and $20 for children aged 16 years-and-under.
